GASTON, S.C. (AP) - A company that distributes frozen foods is expanding its operations in Calhoun County, adding 30 new jobs.

Southeast Frozen Foods announced Thursday it is spending $6 million to expand its facility located near Gaston.

The company distributes frozen and refrigerated foods to stores and also provides cold storage services to processors and growers of South Carolina food products.

It’s the third expansion at the Gaston site during the past eight years during which more than 100 jobs have been created.

The company is a subsidiary of Florida-based Southeast Food Distribution which distributes to stores in 22 states and the District of Columbia as well as exports to the Caribbean as well as Central and South America.
