OSHTEMO TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - A jogger who was struck and killed by an SUV near Kalamazoo was a 21-year-old student at Western Michigan University.

The sheriff’s office says alcohol use by the driver may have played in the role in the death of Nicholas Heil on Wednesday night in Oshtemo Township, a few miles from campus.

A 22-year-old woman was arrested and released from jail early Thursday. The incident remains under investigation.

Investigators say the driver didn’t stop after Heil was struck. The vehicle was found two hours later.
