BUCHAREST, Romania (AP) - Romania coach Anghel Iordanescu has named 28 players in a squad for a training camp ahead of the European Championship.

The group includes potential playmakers Lucian Sanmartean, who is 36, and 19-year-old Andrei Ivan.

Two players - captain Razvan Rat and fellow defender Cosmin Moti - remain from the Euro 2008 squad, when Romania last qualified for a major tournament.

The training camp starts in Italy next Wednesday before two friendly matches, against Congo on May 25 in Como and Ukraine on May 29 in Turin.

Iordanescu must name his 23-man squad for Euro 2016 by May 31.

Romania plays host France in the tournament opener on June 10 at the Stade de France in Paris. Group A also includes Switzerland and Albania.
