PORTIA, Ark. (AP) - One man has died after being struck by flying debris when a helicopter crashed in northeastern Arkansas.

Lawrence County Emergency Management Director Buddy Williams says the man died at a Memphis, Tennessee, hospital where he was flown following the Tuesday morning crash near Portia.

The man’s name was not released. Williams said the pilot of the helicopter was not injured.

Williams says the helicopter was lifting off after being loaded with chemicals to spray on a rice field when it struck a supply truck.

Williams said the Federal Aviation Administration has been notified and will investigate the crash.
