INVER GROVE HEIGHTS, Minn. (AP) - Authorities are continuing to search the Mississippi River near Inver Grove Heights for remains of a missing boater after a decomposed leg was found earlier this week.

Dakota County Sheriff’s Captain Dan Bianconi tells The Pioneer Press (https://bit.ly/1sjB5u2 ) a group of kids discovered the leg floating in the water near the Rock Island Swing Bridge recreational pier on Wednesday.

Bianconi says the leg “most likely” belongs to a man who fell overboard as he and a friend were boating near Shepard Road in St. Paul on April 30. He says they’re still waiting for confirmation from the medical examiner’s office.

Water units from Dakota and Ramsey counties have searched for two days and will continue through the weekend.
