PETOSKEY, Mich. (AP) - Students at North Central Michigan College in Petoskey now will be able to earn a bachelor’s degree in nursing, applied science or business administration from the University of Michigan-Flint while staying closer to home.

A new arrangement allow students to earn their associate degree taking classes at North Central and then use those credits toward the three University of Michigan-Flint bachelor’s degree programs.

Through a combination of courses at North Central and online, students can complete all their coursework.

Agreements announced Friday streamline the process for North Central students to transfer to complete their baccalaureate degrees. It makes higher education more accessible in northern Michigan and is aimed in part at helping hospitals get more staff.
