BEVINGTON, Iowa (AP) - A head-on crash has injured three people and blocked the northbound lanes of Interstate 35 south of Des Moines.

Iowa State Patrol Sgt. Nathan Ludwig told The Des Moines Register (https://dmreg.co/1WvnUmg ) the crash happened Friday afternoon just outside Bevington, about 20 miles south of Des Moines.

Ludwig said three people were injured in the two-vehicle crash, which happened in a construction zone. The state patrol initially said one person had died but later said that wasn’t correct.

Northbound traffic was being routed away from the freeway. Southbound traffic also had been blocked but traffic was later allowed to resume.
