MADISON, Wis. (AP) - Madison-area law enforcement officials are asking for the public’s help in solving three fatal shootings in the past three weeks that they say are linked.

The State Journal reports (https://bit.ly/1VVEYRY ) police chiefs from Madison and Town of Madison held a joint press conference Thursday to reassure and mobilize members of the public. They said they believe the shootings involve at least two rival gang factions.

The two most recent shootings occurred at gas stations Tuesday and Wednesday in the Town of Madison and the city of Madison.

Town of Madison Police Chief Scott Gregory says the recklessness of the murders has been particularly disturbing, with all three taking place in public settings and two happening during daylight hours.
