WAHOO, Neb. (AP) - An Osceola man has been charged in connection to a collision that killed an engaged couple.
Forty-three-year-old Douglas Cerny was charged with two counts of motor vehicle-homicide Thursday.
Authorities say Cerny was driving on Jan. 24 and ran a stop sign at an intersection of U.S. Highway 77, west of Wahoo. According to authorities, Cerny collided with a vehicle being driven by 29-year-old Jessica Thomas. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Thirty-two-year-old Tanner Hauck, who was in the vehicle with Thomas, was transported to a hospital, where he died several days later.
Cerny was treated and released from a hospital.
It was not immediately clear if Cerny has an attorney. He is set to appear in court June 2.
