CAMBRIDGE, Md. (AP) - The Office of the State Fire Marshal says a man has been indicted on arson and other charges in a 2012 fire that injured 24 people, including two firefighters.

The fire marshal’s office said in a news release that an indictment was returned last week charging 26-year-old Pernell Clanton of Easton with numerous counts of arson and assault. Clanton was arrested Wednesday is being held without bail.

The Office of the State’s Attorney for Dorchester County said in the news release that in December 2012, a fire broke out in a building in Cambridge that housed a thrift store and four apartments. Prosecutors say it took nearly 100 firefighters two hours to bring the blaze under control. The building was destroyed; damage was estimated at $850,000.
