MINOT, N.D. (AP) - A man convicted in the slaying of another man in Minot has been ordered to spend 30 years in prison.
KXMC-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1VW9ZW0 ) 38-year-old Anthony Campbell on Friday was sentenced to 45 years in prison with 15 years suspended. A jury in January found Campbell guilty of murder for the September 2014 slaying of 25-year-old Shannon Brunelle.
Brunelle was found stabbed to death in an apartment building garage where he had been staying, and Campbell was arrested in Philadelphia after a nine-week search.
At trial, prosecutor Kelly Dillon said DNA evidence tied Campbell to the killing.
Campbell maintained his innocence during his sentencing hearing on Friday. The station reports his attorney told the court that the incident was an act of methamphetamine-induced rage.
