NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (AP) - A wrongful death lawsuit filed by the family of a woman who died from pregnancy complications at Northampton’s Cooley Dickinson Hospital has been allowed to proceed.

The Daily Hampshire Gazette (https://bit.ly/1TazNYB ) reports that a tribunal consisting of a judge, a doctor and an attorney not connected to the case determined Thursday there was enough evidence to proceed against all defendants, except one.

The suit was filed in 2015 by the family of 32-year-old Pamela Sampson, of Hadley, who died at the hospital in 2013.

Her family alleges in the suit that hospital workers were negligent in their care and ignored obvious warning signs that Sampson was suffering from a potentially fatal complication, and then failed to provide proper care.

A Cooley Dickinson spokeswoman says the hospital doesn’t comment on ongoing litigation.
