PHOENIX (AP) - Phoenix police detained a man for questioning following the fatal shooting of another man in a grocery store’s parking lot.

Witnesses said they heard the 40-year-old victim involved in an argument before the Thursday night shooting and saw another man involved in the argument drive off in a sport utility vehicle.

Officer James Holmes says officers were able to locate a SUV matching the description provided by witnesses and that the 26-year-old man driving the SUV was detained for questioning.

Identities weren’t released.

The shooting occurred in the parking of a Food City store on the 800 block of West Southern Avenue.
