TULSA, Okla. (AP) - Pope Francis has named David Konderla as the bishop-elect for the Diocese of Tulsa.

Konderla will replace Bishop Edward Slattery, who is retiring after turning 75 last August.

The 55-year-old Konderla is expected to be ordained and installed in late June as the fourth bishop of Tulsa. Konderla is a native of Bryan, Texas, and has served at parishes in Austin, Temple, Houston and College Station.

He entered the seminary in 1985 and was ordained in 1995.
