THIBODAUX, La. (AP) - The Lafourche Parish sheriff says two sisters who worked at a roadside casino in Gray have been accused of theft.

In a news release on Thursday, Sheriff Craig Webre said 56-year-old Marla Leblanc, of Chauvin, and 53-year-old Shana Ledet, of Montegut, were arrested on charges of felony theft.

The sheriff says detectives investigated the case after a casino manager discovered workers were stealing money.

Webre says detectives found that Ledet and Leblanc were altering paperwork and stealing thousands of dollars. The sheriff did not disclose how much money had been allegedly stolen. He also did not name the casino where they worked.

The sisters were arrested Wednesday and released after each posted $10,000 bond.
