EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. (AP) - An eastern Missouri woman faces up to life in prison after pleading guilty to conspiring in sex trafficking of a minor.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch (https://bit.ly/1NsXGhd ) reports that 25-year-old Robin Thompson of Park Hills entered the plea Thursday in federal court in East St. Louis, Illinois. Charges against her husband, Marcus Thompson, are still pending.

Prosecutors say the couple recruited a 15-year-old girl from Illinois into prostitution last year. Acting U.S. Attorney James L. Porter says the Thompsons took the girl to Florida, Georgia and Louisiana as part of the trafficking.

The victim told authorities she was enticed from the streets of Madison, Illinois, into a cross-country prostitution ring involving at least five girls. She claimed that one girl died in her arms and that they were beaten.
