MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) - It’s a busy weekend for college commencements in New Hampshire.

Half a dozen schools will be celebrating new graduates on Saturday. The largest gathering will be in Manchester, where Southern New Hampshire University will be awarding 6,015 undergraduate degrees.

Also donning caps and gowns will be seniors at Franklin Pierce University, Great Bay Community College, Lakes Region Community College, New England College and Plymouth State University.

The New Hampshire College and University Council says other colleges in the state will hold commencements in the coming weeks, with Dartmouth College capping off the season on June 12. NHCUC president Thomas Horgan says more than 19,000 students in all will receive degrees.
