ASHLAND CITY, Tenn. (AP) - Search crews are looking for a missing man who was on a boat that capsized near the Cheatham Dam.
Two of the three people on the boat were able to get out of the boat and get to safety.
The Tennessean reports (https://tnne.ws/1ZQS6WJ ) authorities received a report of the capsized boat around 6:30 a.m. Saturday morning. Ashland City Fire Chief Chuck Walker says a search is underway for the third boater.
Rescuers have searched the banks and the area around the boat, but have not found the man, whose identity has not been released.
Walker says the man’s life jacket was recovered.
Witnesses told police they saw the boat close to the dam near turbulent waters and saw it get pulled into the rushing waters.
