OXFORD, Miss. (AP) - NBC News broadcaster Tom Brokaw will address graduates Saturday at the University of Mississippi.

Brokaw was host of NBC’s “Today” program from 1976 to 1982, and anchored “NBC Nightly News” from 1982 to 2004. He’s also the author of four books including “The Greatest Generation,” profiling Americans who grew up during the Great Depression and helped win World War II.

Brokaw previously served as a guest lecturer in the UM School of Journalism and New Media in 2010. He also discussed presidential politics in a campus program before the first presidential debate between then-Sen. Barack Obama and Sen. John McCain.

Ole Miss will present almost 2,800 bachelor’s, master’s and doctorate degrees in ceremonies scheduled to be held on campus in the Grove.
