CALDWELL, Idaho (AP) - Canyon County prosecutors dismissed and then refiled the same charges against a man accused in the beating death of a 49-year-old Nampa man las month.

KTVB-TV says (https://goo.gl/EfTNd8 ) prosecutors on Friday refiled first-degree murder, robbery and other charges against 22-year-old Kelly Schneider in a move designed to give prosecutors more time to gather witnesses and evidence to present at Schneider’s preliminary hearing.

He is to be arraigned again on the charges Monday. He remains held in the jail without bond.

Schneider is one of four men charged in the April death of Steven Nelson.

Prosecutors allege that Schneider posed as an escort on the website Backpage in order to rob those who responded to his ad.

Authorities have said Nelson believed he was meeting a man for sex but instead was ambushed. He was found naked and badly beaten wandering a neighborhood by Lake Lowell. He gave police information about the attack but died later in a hospital.
