SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) - The city of Sioux Falls turned its iconic falls blue on Friday night to honor law enforcement officers who have died in the line of duty.
KDLT television reports (https://bit.ly/1OquRC1 ) that officials at Falls Park lit the waterfalls with blue lights in conjunction with Sunday’s National Peace Officer Memorial Day. The city has also placed blue ribbons throughout downtown Sioux Falls this weekend to show support for officers.
President Barack Obama says in his declaration that the day is set aside to celebrate those who nobly serve each day and remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.
