OMAHA, Neb. (AP) - A 25-year-old man has been convicted of killing one man in a 2009 northeast Omaha store shooting.

A Douglas County jury on Friday found Akeem Jones guilty of first-degree murder for the death of 22-year-old Gary Holmes in a north Omaha convenience store.

Police say the shooting also left Holmes’ cousin, Rodney Smith, paralyzed.

Sentencing has been set for June 28. Jones faces an automatic life sentence.

Jones also faces charges is several other Omaha shootings.
