SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (AP) - Police have made an arrest in the fatal hit-and-run of an elderly man in Scottsdale.
Authorities say 23-year-old Blake Crawford was taken into custody Friday on charges of leaving the scene of a fatal collision and auto theft.
He was later transported to a Phoenix jail.
According to Sgt. Ben Hoster, Crawford was driving a Prius that was reported stolen on March 13.
Crawford then allegedly hit a pedestrian, 81-year-old Sloan Harper.
Police say Harper died from his injuries.
Crawford is accused of fleeing the scene and dumping the stolen vehicle less than 2 miles away.
Hoster says DNA and other evidence led police to identify him as a suspect.
