PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - A Providence man has been indicted on murder and other charges in the 2014 slaying of a man whose body was found in a garbage bin.

Attorney General Peter Kilmartin announced Friday that Marcos Hernandez was charged in the death of 42-year-old Augustin Jaiman.

Prosecutors say the 22-year-old Hernandez shot and killed Jaiman on June 25, 2014, and placed his body in a garbage bin in a wooded area off Leander Street in Providence. The body was found nearly three months later. Prosecutors haven’t provided a motive for the killing.

Hernandez was recently arrested in Orlando, Florida, and is being held at the Orange County Jail.

An arraignment date hasn’t been scheduled.

It’s unclear whether Hernandez has an attorney who could comment on the charges.
