Skateboarder hospitalized after being hit by police cruiser

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) - A skateboarder is in serious condition at a hospital after being hit by a police cruiser in Myrtle Beach.

South Carolina Highway Patrol Cpl. Sonny Collins tells local media outlets that the accident happened shortly before 4 on Saturday morning.

The skateboarder, whose name was not released, was a teenager and was hit by an Horry County Police cruiser.

Collins says that the skateboarder was in the road illegally and no charges are expected to be filed.
