ASHEVILLE, N.C. (AP) - A South Carolina man faces extradition to North Carolina after his arrest in the death of an Asheville man.
Asheville police spokeswoman Christina Hallingse tells local media outlets that 31-year-old Andrew Donald Zapf of Inman, South Carolina is charged with first-degree murder.
The charge stems from the death last Tuesday of 58-year-old Jerry Darrell Langford at a home in Asheville. Authorities have not provided a lot of details about the death, although an incident report says that Langford died of what were termed major injuries.
Asheville police say that Zapf was arrested Friday by Spartanburg County, South Carolina deputies after an examination of evidence following an autopsy. It was not immediately known if he had an attorney.
