SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - A man accused of stabbing a woman to death and leaving her in a West Valley City street has been ordered to stand trial.

KSL-TV in Salt Lake City reports (https://bit.ly/1R27vgF) that 26-year-old Sergio Briseno Medina had a preliminary hearing Friday.

Medina is facing charges of murder and obstructing justice in the death of 21-year-old Hope Gabaldon.

Authorities say they found Gabaldon, of Herriman, on the street with more than 20 stab wounds.

She later died at a hospital.

Police initially identified Medina as a person of interest and located him in Denver.

Several witnesses testified Friday about Medina’s behavior after the victim’s death with some saying he hinted at or described how Gabaldon was killed.

Defense attorney Scott Wilson says the testimony from the witnesses was questionable.
