BRUNSWICK, Ga. (AP) - U.S. Coast Guard officials say one of two missing boaters has been rescued near Altamaha Sound, north of Brunswick.

Petty Officer Second Class Anthony Soto said in an emailed statement Sunday that Cliff Morgan was found clinging to the overturned 19-foot long vessel that he and 61-year-old Charles Morgan were riding in on Saturday. Soto says a Coast Guard Air Station Savannah helicopter crew spotted the man.

Officials say Cliff and Charles Morgan began their boating trip Saturday morning and Charles Morgan’s girlfriend contacted authorities after the two didn’t return.

Soto says authorities are still searching for Charles Morgan, and Cliff Morgan is undergoing a medical evaluation.

The Georgia Department of Natural Resources and the McIntosh County Sheriff’s Office have also been called in for assistance.
