GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (AP) - Construction work is scheduled to begin this week on Nebraska Highway 2 southeast of Grand Island.

The Nebraska Roads Department says an asphalt overlay is planned for a more than three-mile stretch of Highway 2 running north of Interstate 80 into U.S. Highway 34.

Traffic will be maintained with flaggers and a pilot car, and there will be a 12-foot width restriction.

The work is expected to be finished by the end of the month.
