LEAVENWORTH, Wash. (AP) - Authorities say a rock climber has fallen to her death in the Icicle River drainage west of Leavenworth, Washington.

The Chelan County sheriff’s office says the 50-year-old woman from Seatac, Washington, fell about 80 feet while climbing with a group on Saturday afternoon.

A rescue team was training nearby and immediately responded to a call for help. The woman was given CPR at the scene but did not survive her injuries.

The exact cause of her fall is being investigated.
