NUREMBERG, Germany (AP) - Fourth-seeded Lesia Tsurenko beat wild card Mira Antonitsch 7-5, 6-1 in the opening round of the WTA tournament in Nuremberg on Sunday.
Irina Falconi eased past another wild card, Katharina Gerlach, 6-0, 6-3.
Nicole Gibbs defeated Kristyna Pliskova 6-4, 6-3 to also advance to the second round.
The tournament is a warm-up for the French Open that starts in a week.
