WATSON, La. (AP) - The Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office says a girl or woman has apparently drowned while tubing on the Upper Amite River about 15 miles northeast of Baton Rouge.

Sheriff Jason Ard says in a news release that she was not carrying any identification, and investigators are trying to learn who she was.

The brief statement did not give an approximate age or any other description.

Ard says her body was found just before 3 p.m. Sunday near Watson.
