TOWN OF BURLINGTON, Wis. (AP) - Racine County sheriff’s investigators are working to determine if a third person was a victim of a house explosion and fire in the Town of Burlington.
Two bodies have been recovered from the rubble of the house following Saturday’s explosion and fire. Authorities say a third person could have been in the home at the time, but they are not certain of that.
Sheriff’s officials say the fire appears to be suspicious in nature and an investigation continues.
Firefighters were dispatched around 3:15 p.m. Saturday on a report of smoke and flames coming from the home following a large explosion. Sheriff Christopher Schmaling says the home was leveled.
