CLAYHATCHEE, Ala. (AP) - Crews have found the body of a missing 5-year-old girl in a southeast Alabama river.

Dale County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Mason Bynum tells The Dothan Eagle (https://bit.ly/1TWasnn ) that the girl’s body was recovered from the Choctawhatchee River around 2 p.m. Monday.

The girl’s name wasn’t immediately released.

Authorities have said the girl was swimming with two siblings when all three went under water in the river on Sunday afternoon. Bynum previously said another person in the area was able to rescue two of the siblings.

The newspaper reports that aircraft, divers and other personnel assisted in the search. The search was concentrated on the river, near a boat ramp off Alabama Highway 92.

Clayhatchee, a small Dale County town, is about 20 miles west of Dothan.
