FARMINGTON, W.Va. (AP) - A Farmington police officer has been accused of bribing a woman to have sex with him in order to dodge a speeding ticket and jail time.
News outlets report that Marcus David Slauer, of Fairmont, was charged with one felony count of bribery Friday.
State Police Sgt. John Wyatt writes in a criminal complaint that Slauer pulled over a woman for speeding on April 22. Due to prior sentencing in South Carolina, the woman faced one to five years in jail if she violated any laws.
Slauer says the two drove to the Farmington Police Department, where they engaged in oral sex and sexual intercourse.
Slauer was also a deputy with the Marion County Sheriff’s Department. He has resigned from both departments. It’s unclear whether he has an attorney.
