WEST UNION, Iowa (AP) - Authorities say a Fayette County jailer has been accused of driving while intoxicated.

Waterloo television station KWWL reports (https://bit.ly/1V63oHn ) that the man was arrested by West Union officers around 2:50 a.m. Sunday.

He was identified as 25-year-old Austin Vagts. Online court records don’t list the name of an attorney who could comment for him.

The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office website lists Vagts as a detention officer, and KWWL says Vagts became a full-time officer on Dec. 1.
