Grass-cutting crew finds body in Ascension Parish median

GONZALES, La. (AP) - Officials say a grass-cutting crew has found a body on Interstate 10 in Ascension Parish.

WAFB-TV (https://bit.ly/1qoFlqo ) reports the crew located the body in the median near the overpass located between Prairieville and Gonzales. Sheriff’s deputies first responded to the scene about 1 p.m. Monday.

Crime scene investigators and investigators with the Ascension Parish Coroner’s Office are working to determine the exact cause of death, time of death, as well as the identity of the victim.

Louisiana State Police Trooper Bryan Lee says investigators don’t know how long the body had been there. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police or CrimeStoppers at 225-344-7867.
