FARGO, N.D. (AP) - A man accused of distributing a heroin substance in the Fargo area that led to two overdoses in April has pleaded not guilty in federal court.

Greg Krutsinger was arraigned Friday on a charge of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute a controlled substance resulting in serious bodily injury. The charge carries a maximum sentence of life in prison.

An affidavit says Krutsinger is responsible for distributing drugs that are “harming people and even causing death.” A trial date has not been set.

Krutsinger’s attorney, Jeff Bredahl, could not be immediately reached for comment.

Law enforcement officials and other community members have been conducting public forums this month warning people about the increase in opioid overdoses and deaths.
