ANTIOCH, Calif. (AP) - A man was shot along a stretch of freeway east of San Francisco on Sunday evening.

He is the latest victim in at least 20 shootings along East Bay highways since November.

KNTV reports (https://bit.ly/1OvPHe2 ) Monday that Antioch police Sgt. Rick Martin says the 22-year-old man was taken to the hospital Sunday evening following the shooting along Highway 4.

The victim’s car riddled with bullets. The man’s shoulder was covered in blood, but he was alert and speaking with paramedics following the shooting. His condition was not available Monday.

The shooting comes as the City Council in nearby Pittsburg is slated to vote Monday night on whether to install security cameras along a stretch of the highway.

It was not known Monday if the incident is linked to the slew of other shootings on nearby highways in the past several months.
