ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - A member of the Syndicato de Nuevo Mexico prison gang wanted by federal authorities has died in a motorcycle crash in Albuquerque.

The FBI says 40-year-old Leroy Torrez was wanted for being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Albuquerque police say Torrez was riding a stolen motorcycle at a high rate of speed Friday when he lost control and went through the fence of a business.

Police say Torrez died at the scene.

Federal, state and local authorities arrested 19 members of the prison gang last month on various charges.

Several other members still are being sought.
