COLORADO CITY, Ariz. (AP) - Residents of Colorado City who want to visit a Motor Vehicle Division office will have to travel at least an hour.

The state Department of Transportation says it is consolidating two of the offices on the Arizona Strip. Employees of the Colorado City office soon will be stationed at the Littlefield office.

The change takes effect Monday, May 23.

The Colorado City office had been open two days a week. The Littlefield office will go from operating three days a week to five.

Transportation officials say many transactions can be done online or through third-party businesses.

The agency says it looks at location, lease agreements and what services are used at its motor vehicle offices when considering whether to consolidate them.
