DELTA, Utah (AP) - Utah authorities say a man has died after he was crushed during an industrial accident.

The Millard County Sheriff’s Office says 64-year-old Melquiadez Marquez of Hinckley died Friday morning. The sheriff’s office said in a statement that Marquez was operating a machine that cuts large bales of hay into smaller bales when he somehow became caught in the machine and was crushed.

Police say no one witnessed the accident, but a coworker heard Marquez cry out and found him in the machine.

Marquez had been working in the McCornick area between Holden and Delta.

Officials say Marquez was taken to the Utah Medical Examiner’s Office in Salt Lake City for an autopsy. The sheriff’s office is still investigating how Marquez got caught the machine.
