SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - A ruptured water line caused a small landslide that sent mud and debris barreling down a hill, much of it settling onto the backyard and porch of a Logan home.

Logan city spokeswoman Teresa Harris said Monday that the inside of the home didn’t suffer any damage and nobody was injured. But Harris said the family’s backyard is a big mess. The house is located a few hundred feet below where the water line ruptured.

Harris says 10 houses were evacuated but residents at all but the one have been allowed to return home.

City officials don’t know yet why the irrigation water line broke. The water was shut off to avoid further damage.

Officials are currently working to make sure the soil and trees in the area are stable.
