FARGO, N.D. (AP) - Two men suffered only minor injuries after being trapped during a fire in a Fargo house converted into apartments.

The blaze was reported shortly before 2:30 p.m. Monday. Firefighters quickly brought it under control.

The Fire Department says two men were trapped for a time in their second-floor apartments when they tried to escape down the stairs but were blocked by flames and smoke.

The cause of the fire is being investigated. Fire Chief Steve Dirksen tells KFGO radio it appears the fire started somewhere on the home’s exterior.
