RAVENEL, S.C. (AP) - Charleston County Sheriff Al Cannon says that two women and a girl have been shot and killed in an apparent domestic dispute at a mobile home park near Charleston.

The sheriff told reporters at the scene that a man is in custody and a fourth woman has been hospitalized with a leg wound.

Neither the identities of the victims, or the person arrested, were immediately released.

Deputies said it happened 1:30 p.m. in a mobile home park in Ravenel, about 20 miles west of Charleston.

Cannon told reporters that deputies responded to a report of shots fired in the Ravenel Mobile Home Park. There was also a report that someone was dragging a woman toward a car, he said.

“The first deputy arrived on the scene, he had a description of the car and he located the car inside the trailer park where he found a female who had been shot in the leg,” Cannon said.

He said deputies then went to the trailer where they found the three women who were killed in the shooting. They also found a 4-month old child in the trailer who was not hurt.

Cannon said shootings apparently resulted from a domestic dispute but did not describe the relationship between those involved.

“First Deputy on scene stopped car leaving the area, took suspect into custody and found wounded person in the car. Likely saved her life,” Cannon said on his Twitter account.

Autopsies have been scheduled for Wednesday.
