CONCORD, N.H. (AP) - U.S. Sen. Kelly Ayotte of New Hampshire will be questioning federal officials on the steps agencies have taken to combat drug trafficking and the growth of substance abuse disorders.

The Republican senator is attending a Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee hearing on Tuesday afternoon.

The hearing is entitled, “America’s Insatiable Demand for Drugs: Assessing the Federal Response.”



It will address the prevalence of substance abuse disorders related to prescription opioids, heroin and fentanyl.
