ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) - Gun charges have been dropped against Tavares Mayor Robert Wolfe after his wife was arrested.

WKMG (https://bit.ly/1qr44dH) is reporting that charges were withdrawn after Sharon Wolfe was charged with perjury Monday. Prosecutors say she took back claims her husband fired a gun during a domestic dispute on April 24.

This all stems from a domestic dispute in which Sharon Wolfe claimed her husband struck her during an argument at a bar. The woman also said he fired a Beretta handgun in the couple’s bedroom.

Sharon Wolfe told officers she did not want her husband arrested. She just wanted the incident on record. But authorities say she gave sworn testimony to Lake County prosecutors that she later took back.
