RENO, Nev. (AP) - Federal immigration enforcement agents have arrested 87 people in Reno and Las Vegas during a five-day operation.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials announced Monday that they arrested 65 people in Las Vegas and 22 people in Reno last week, including convicted drug traffickers and known gang members.

Officials refuse to release the identities of those arrested but say they targeted immigrants who pose a threat to public safety. The agency says 65 of the detainees came from Mexico and 10 from Honduras. Others came from Guatemala, Peru, the Philippines, Cuba, Taiwan and Vietnam.

Those who are not being criminally prosecuted will be processed administratively for removal from the U.S.
