BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — The Louisiana State Capitol and the Hollywood Casino in Baton Rouge were evacuated in response to bomb threats.
State police tell news outlets that the buildings were evacuated Monday night after officials received calls from a man telling them that bombs had been placed in the Capitol and casino.
Officials searched both buildings but did not find any unusual or suspicious items. People were allowed to re-enter both buildings later that night.
State Police Col. Mike Edmonson says that officials traced the calls to a man’s phone and detained him for questioning, but did not arrest him. Officials haven’t released his name.
