WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (AP) - An eastern Pennsylvania man has been jailed on charges he killed a 55-year-old woman outside her residence, though police have said she may not have been his intended target.
Williamsport police have charged 23-year-old Knowledge Frierson with criminal homicide and other crimes in the October shooting that killed Carolyn Barr.
Police say Barr was returning home the evening she was shot. They say Barr’s nephew, a 22-year-old parolee, was also wounded and later acknowledged selling drugs from the residence.
Police say Barr’s nephew was walking her to her car when she was shot and returned fire, wounding Frierson.
Online court records don’t list an attorney for Frierson.
He’s also charged with attempted homicide for allegedly shooting at Barr’s nephew. He faces a preliminary hearing May 26.
